Clone document

The following example shows you how to clone (deep copy) an ODF text document using the clone method. The cloned document is an independent copy that can be modified without affecting the original document.

import com.independentsoft.office.odf.TextDocument;

    public static void main(String[] args)
    {
        try
        {
            TextDocument doc = new TextDocument("c:\\test\\input.odt");

            TextDocument clonedDoc = doc.clone();

            Paragraph paragraph = new Paragraph();
            paragraph.add("This paragraph was added to the cloned document.");
            clonedDoc.getBody().add(paragraph);

            clonedDoc.save("c:\\test\\cloned.odt", true);
        }
        catch (Exception e)
        {
            System.out.println(e.getMessage());
            e.printStackTrace();
        }
    }
}
